Pastrami Reuben Appetizers

Makes approximately 30 appetizers

Prep time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

One pound sauerkraut—drained, not rinsed

2 tablespoons Thousand Island dressing

One package party rye bread

1/2 pound Kayem Red Pastrami (sliced thin)

1/4 pound sliced Swiss cheese

Directions

  1. Combine drained sauerkraut with the dressing.
  2. Place single layer of rye bread on baking sheet.
  3. Place one tablespoon of sauerkraut mixture in center of each slice.
  4. Top with 2 slices Kayem Red Pastrami and 1/2 slice swiss cheese.
  5. Heat under broiler for 5–10 minutes or until cheese melts.

Grilling Tip

DO use tongs. DON'T pierce the casing. When you lose the juice, you lose the flavor!
